I always read the reviews for items I like (and want to continue to like) with a great amount of optimism. If someone has had a problem, I tell myself it won't happen to me. Well, despite reviews that this item required work to maintain its appearance, I bought it. What I wasn't expecting, was that when a trusted handyman lightly tapped on the knock out holes before installation to prep my new sink for my new faucet, that the corner of the sink would break off. I watched it happen and there was no excessive force used. The directions were followed and the sink just broke. I immediately checked my warranty and, of course, chips and breaks aren't covered. Since I won't be able to buy another new sink, I've had to repair the crack the best I can. Not exactly the brand new sink feeling I was going for. If you're going to buy this and need more than the one hole knocked out, practice extreme caution.
My kitchen has two full size sinks and they are both the blanco cafe brown. I have a beautiful brown, creme and gold granite and the blanco sinks make the counter tops rich and beautiful! Easy to keep clean! I recommend this product. I have had my sinks for 6 months and get compliments all the time from my friends.Debbie in Texas
We built a house and selected this sink from a catalog a little more than a year ago. The sink has developed a crack near the drain. The sink is covered by a warranty. The problem is that you have to pay for shipping and labor. The shipping is just a small insult and does not amount to much money. It is the thousands of dollars that we have to pay to replace the sink that really sucks. To get at the sink requires removing the granite, which requires removing the stone above the granite. We do not have the final bill, but it is safe to say it is thousands and many-many times the cost of the sink. And then we have another sink that could easily fail and then we have to pay again.
I ordered this sink from Amazon and was a little nervous about it being shipped (afraid that it might break or chip), but it was packed so incredibly well that it arrived in perfect condition. This sink is absolutely awesome. I had read previous reviews, most of which were good, so decided to purchase this sink. This dark color goes great with my new granite, really setting off the veins in the stone. It doesn't water spot, and is incredibly easy to keep clean. And what an updated look it provides! I think that anyone considering purchasing a silgranit sink would be thrilled with this one.....I know that I am.
This is an excellent. Saw it at a friend's house. Amazon price was almost half that of local home supply store. The great benefit is that it does not show any scratches or dirt. Holds up extremely well to wear and heat. Very happy. Very easy to keep clean.
We absolutely love this sink. The design is extremely functional and adds a lot of character at the same time. The curved back looks great! We host the holidays and washing the large pots and pans was a breeze, I even had guests who wanted to help so they could try it out. I was initially skeptical ordering such a big item off of Amazon without seeing it, and was concerned regarding the other reviews of water leaving white marks, but I have had no problems. We have hard water, but I haven't noticed any residue or film. (I do use Dawn detergent though, not sure if that is making a difference.) The only cleaning I've had to do is to wash it with dish detergent and it looks just as great as the day it was installed.
I purchased a siligranit sink from the company, "Buy Plumbing" through Amazon. It was damaged during delivery. They have a 15% restock charge, even though it was damaged while being delivered. Then I reordered a new one, but it wouldn't arrive on time (this whole time we are sinkless from the remodel). Then I told them to cancel the order and they said I HAD TO ACCEPT THE DELIVERY, so they also charged me for the new sink to be delivered and returned, even though I refused shipment and told them that I didn't want it. I disputed with my CC company and they are still charging me $139.79, because they sent a damaged sink. Buy from a local company, so you can return it the same day, if there is a problem. There are often, I was told by our plumber, problems when these siligranit sinks are shipped. Whatever you do, save yourself the aggravation and expense of dealing with this awful company.
