Not what you want for daily use in your yard. Sun and abuse will weaken the fabric of the hose over time and create the pinleaks noted by other reviews. BUT it's great for occasional use, easy to handle and transport, very easy and space-saving to store. Perfect for campers/RV if you aren't a full-timer. I used it last year to weekly refill our garden pond during the winter - quick to drain & roll up before my hands or the hose froze, and could store in a small spot indoors by the back door. Hubby left it out to freeze a couple times, so by spring it was starting to leak. The ones in the camper are 3 yr old, used a lot (but not continuously), and working fine.
Handy to have when you run out of water in the camper. Storage space is limited so it works well.
Works great and it's handy to store in the case it came in. Wish it could be used without completely unrolling it, but it's easy to wind back in. Very compact easy storage.
I purchased one of these hoses 5 years ago to replace a standard hose. I use it exclusively on my sailboat. Compact storage is of primary importance. I use this hose to fill the fresh water tanks and also for washing. The original remained odor free and contributed no off flavor to the drinking water througout it's life. The reason I had to replace it is because first a bulge and eventually a leak developed where the hose connects to the female connector. This was caused more by my abuse than anything else. Great hose! Great price!
I love the compact case for my RV. If you are not VERY attention and allow higher pressure to be used, this hose starts splitting along the seam, starting with pin holes and eventually lots of seam failure holes. I am buying another one, because it is approved for drinking water, but if I found one that fixed the seam problems, I would jump ship.
Space on a boat (regardless of its size) is limited. This hose and reel are excellent space savers. It is especially handy in the winter when you have to fill your water tank. Just unreel the hose and fill your tank. When you are finished, wind the hose back onto the reel - as it loads back onto the reel, the water is squeezed out of the hose illiminating the possibility of water freezing in the hose and making it unusable until the Spring Thaw! Great product!
I've had this hose for about two and a half weeks. Last night, the third time I used it, it developed a leak, actually a hole, about in the middle of the hose. I thought because this had metal couplings, it would be better quality, but I'm going to buy a Hydrohose. I had one for a number of years before it developed any problems.
I have an insulation business and there is not much room in the trucks for a big hose these work GREAT!
The first time I used it, water sprayed out from a small leak near one end of the hose. I kept using it, and within an hour, a large hole had ruptured in the seam midway along the hose, rendering it useless. I don't know if I just happened to receive a defective sample of this hose, or if others would function similarly, but I asked for a refund from the seller.
Purchased this hose to fill my kids pool without any lead compounds in the hose to leach into pool water. It seems most conventional garden hoses have a lead warning because of the materials used in them. The Handi-Hose does not.Also hose can be rolled up provided you drain all the water out first, Thanks Handi-Hose.Update / July 21st hose is sprining leaks around faucet connection area. The material seems to be getting pin hole leaks at the last foot of hose closest to connection.Thought I had a winner this is clearly unacceptable.Keep hunting for a lead free hose!
