i purchased the entire kit and now time to re stock and this worked great and the price was reasonable also.
Good selection of heat shrink tubing in this pack, though I would have liked to see more sticks of the large sizes. Overall a good deal though. Just read all the fine print and make sure it has the sizes you need.
I think the description says it all, but I wanted to add some stars for this assortment of tubing. Plenty of sizes and colors to handle the variety of wires one encounters in car stereo installation.
I might have been expecting too much, but these tubes really didn't work for me. I bought this to protect wires splices that would be subject to some stress. My goal was to double bag my splices. I'd use a butt connector with shrink wrap on it already to connect the wires. Then I was planning to slide these shrink tubes over the connection to provide additional holing strength and water resistance. Unfortunately, a tube big enough to go over the butt connector didn't shrink enough to grab the wire. Also, even when you shrink a long tube tightly around the wire, it's still pretty easy to move the tube up and down. I know these tubes don't have internal adhesive, but I was hoping from some more mechanical gripping power.In the end, I felt like my shrink wrap around the butt connectors was doing all the work. Having the longer shrink tube on the outside may have provided some more water resistance, but no additional mechanical strength. I would have been better off wrapping the butt connectors in a few layers of electoral tape than the shrink wrap.ConsDidn't shrink enough to go over butt connectors and tightly wrap around wiresLacks internal adhesive and doesn't have much mechanical holding strength.Tube size not marked, takes more effort to determine which size you have.Pros - Will shrink with a hair dryer.
Havent used any of this yet, but it has every single size imaginable. also has alot of colors too. Very nice set of shrink wrap. would recommend to anyone looking for wrap.
Heat-shrink tubing is one the handiest materials in a repair technician's toolkit. Simply cut a piece of tubing slightly larger than the wire splice, slip it over the wire before twisting and/or soldering (making sure that it's not close to the heat). Once the wires are joined and cooled. slide the tubing over the splice and gently heat until the material shrinks tightly around the splice. A small heat gun works the best but a butane lighter held near will do the job also. Use caution with an open flame and don't let it touch the material to avoid melting or igniting it. It's useful for repairs and for joining small parts and is available in colors to aid in marking leads. It is also available with an adhesive liner which makes it more versatile than electrical tape (it's much neater and won't unravel like tape).
