I installed the Polaris pump over the weekend and it's working great. Runs quietly and provides the Polaris sweep with plenty of pressure.The pump comes with a 4 foot length of plastic hose and 4 plastic connectors that are very handy if you are replacing an old pump. The original connectors on my old pump were very brittle and cracked while I was disconnecting the hoses.Hose connections: Make sure you have a tube of silicone grease to lube the threads of the plastic connectors before you screw them into the pump. Makes future disassembly much easier. Also, the hoses slide over the prongs of the plastic connectors a lot easier if you use plenty of lube on them.Electrical: A removable access plate at the motor end of the pump reveals the electrical connections. Document which wire goes where before you unplug everything. Two bladed connections - 1 positve, 1 negative; and 1 screw down connection for the ground wire. If you are disconnecting an old pump be careful when pulling the 3 wires out through the conduit port hole. The bladed connectors on the wiring can snap off if you're too rough, especially if the wires pass through an elbow fitting that forces you to bend the wires to get them out.
I purchased this Polaris pump to replace my worn out pump. My old pump was over 8 years old, and finally wouldn't turn on any more. Amazon has the best selection from a variety of sellers. I am very pleased with my purchase. Polaris makes a quality pump, and it was fairly easy to install. Everything is included - pump, hoses, and connectors. What a difference this new pump has made. It is quiet, and I hardly know it's running.
The pump I replaced with this one was sooo loud. This one is so silent, at first I thought it wasn't working. If you want a quiet running booster pump, go for the Polaris. The instructions aren't very helpful with the electrical part of installation, but if you are replacing an old pump like I was, it's not hard to figure out. Highly recommend this pump!
Ordered this product from A1 pool supply / web ware house / Amazon. Received pump promptly, about a week. When I wired the pump and turned it on it smoked, burned up. I immediately tried to contact the seller, they didnt have a direct phone or e-mail I had to go through Amazon and they would forward my e-mail. No reply for a couple days I tried again, no reply after a couple more days. Fianlly I talked with Amazon direct they asked me to wait one more week, so I did, still nothing. Talked with Amazon again they then contacted A1 pool supply then I got a quick e-mail response with phone number. I called no answer left message, a guy called back and left message, we did this twice I then left my cell nember and he never called back. Talked to Amazon and filled out a guarentee A to Z and they, Amazon, credited my account as for A1 pool supply???? wont do business with them again. I guess all I can say is if the seller does not provide a return policy with contact information DO NOT do business with them. Once again Amazon was great.
We ordered our pump on a Saturday and received it by Friday. Very quick Fed. Ex. delivery. My husband was pleasantly surprised to find that it came with all the attachments needed to replace old pump with as we were thinking we'd have to go out and purchase all the necessary attachments. Pump was fairly easy to install and once installed we weren't sure it was running as it was so quiet compared to our existing pool pump (which now really needs to be replaced with something just as quiet!). We are very happy with the pump and the online purchase! So great not to have to deal with going to a variety of stores just to find out that they don't stock it and needs to be ordered anyway!
If you use a Polaris 360/380 to clean your pool, you must install this product or else there will not be enough pressure for your Polaris cleaner to work.This product boosts the water pressure to the hose connected to the Polaris cleaner so that enough suction is created to vacuum the pool.The product is well made and does what it claims. It is also long lasting. I live in the Northeast and use my pool about 3-4 months each year depending on the weather. I only recently replaced my original booster pump, which lasted 20 years.Before you buy this, search the internet carefully to make sure that you get the best price.
The pump was exactly what I ordered at the price that was quoted. Initially it was stated that it would take 10 days for the pump to arrive. To my pleasant surprise, the pump arrived 3 days later. I will buy from this vendor in the future.
I used this booster pump to replace one that died in my pool system. This pump powers my polaris cleaner. This pump was $299+tax at the local pool supply store. My pool repair guy said he could install one for $375+tax.It looked like such a simple install I decided to try it myself. Glad I did. If you are replacing an existing booster pump, just take a picture of the hose routing and wire routing before disconnecting anything. The "quick connect" hoses really are quick. Once you get in the motor, there are two wires and a ground to connect -- again very easy.Took me 3 hours to install, being very careful, and including a trip to Lowes. Hardest part was disconnecting the old (rusted) parts from the old booster. If you have any DIY skill, you should have no worries installing this pump youself.
Excellent & so much cheaper than ordering it from your local pool store. Highly recommend it, but if you are fuzzy with electrical work, have an electrician help you out!
Pump arrived within three days. It was what I had ordered.The plastic stand was broken but was able to use the one off of the old pump that this one replaced. It must have been dropped in the shipping process. Price was good and it worked fine.
