I purchased this hook hoping to hang a new dual-wheel wheelbarrow I bought at a chain hardware store. The wheelbarrow bed was made of high-impact plastic instead of painted steel. When trying to hang this using the hook, there was a lot of stress put on the plastic lip of the wheelbarrow, causing it to partially 'unfold', and I was afraid it would fail over time, sending the wheelbarrow crashing on top of my car. Also, like the previous poster said, the wheelbarrow does seriously hang out into the garage space - you need to make sure you mount it high (and if you have a large steel wheelbarrow, you'd better be strong and agile enough to lift it over your head by the handles). What I ended up doing for my wheelbarrow was drilling two 1/2" holes in the lip at the end of the wheelbarrow, and then hung it on a Gladiator Utility hook after pulling the rubberized things off that are slipped over the hooks. It works great, and takes up less room too.If using a steel wheelbarrow, I'm sure this hook would do the job.

While this item functions as advertised, be aware that the clearance needed for your wheelbarrow will be great. The wheelbarrow is held in place by the lip of tub resting in these hooks while the handles prop against the wall. For most wheelbarrow designs this leads to the rest, including the wheel, sticking a significant distance out from the wall. This is the only item in the Gladiator line that we have not been pleased with so far. That said we are utilizing it to hand something else from.

The product works as designed if you have a traditional metal wheelbarrow where the edge of the metal is just rolled back under to form a roundish edge around the metal body portion of the wheelbarrow. I put my geartrack up high so this hook would keep the wheelbarrow up and out of the way. You place the edge of the metal on the two hooks so that the wheel portion of the wheelbarrow is highest and facing out from the wall. The two handles act as leverage below the hook and against the wall. I put a little piece of cardboard between each handle and the wall to keep it from making marks. Now that the wheelbarrow has been hanging there for a year the cardboard just stays when I take the wheelbarrow down and put it back up due to the pressure. I have a high ceiling garage and I am young so lifting it up is not a problem. Make sure your geartrack is in studs or it might not be sturdy enough to hold your wheelbarrow.
