I needed a chain saw to cut a few small limbs off of our tree. The ones under $60 at home depot were all OUT OF STOCK and the rental was $40 a day. This saw was $40 no tax, no shipping. It worked so fine I was done in no time. Had no problems with binding or kickback and it never got stuck in the wood. I even used to at my mother-in-laws house for some clean up from a storm. I don't think you can do better for the money and the shipping was really fast. This was a perfect transaction and I would buy a Remington saw again no problem. It cut through an almond tree without incident and that is very hard wood. Highly recommended!!!
If your yard is that certain size where occasionally, but not too often, you have the need of a chain saw for light-medium cutting, this saw delivers. It's a good buy at the price for a new unit, an even better one was the reconditioned unit I bought through Amazon for about $20 less. Light assembly is required. It's well balanced and easy to use. I've haven't had any kickback problems in 2 weeks of heavy use in removing tree limbs and cutting off the trunks of large shrubs at the ground level. It's only drawback, and common to other light-duty saws, I believe, is the oil reservoir drips no matter how I hang it up. The owner's manual mentions the issue.
I bought my Remington 1.5 Peak HP 14" trimming saw about 2 years ago. I use it every spring and fall, and it has delivered every time. It cuts through tree limbs like butter even after 2 years of use. Also, I had a large Mountain Ash die on me in my front yard, and it took me only 45 minutes to have it completely cut down, and then another 45 minutes or so to hack up all of the limbs including the stump. I really thought I was going to have to break out my gas powered chain saw (larger blade), but I never touched it. On the stump I did have to cut chunks out before I could complete the task. The only problem I have with it is after you are done using it you are covered with saw dust.
Great little chainsaw. Cuts through tree limbs with no problem. It does leak a little oil but I would definitely buy again!!
If you need a little chainsaw that's usable one handed you can't beat this. Oiler works somewhat poorly, so I spray chain lube every so often. Chain needs frquent adjustment when first using, but once 'stretched in' holds ajustment well. Perfect for limbing whilst up on the ladder and small yard jobs. 100 lb girlfriend has no problems using this tool. Recommend this for any homeowner that does not live 'in the woods'. It works every time, no fuel related problems, no start problems. This is a light duty chain saw. You are not going to be happy if you want to cut down a forest to heat your home.
This my second lightweight saw.I mostly use it for trimming treebranches and cleaning palmleaves.This new 12" saw is fantastically easy to handle with one hand while up in a tree.They wastly improved the cleaning of the debris that used to clog up the chainpathwhich meant you had to climb down and remove the 3 little screws to remove the cover and clean out the path.Now the debris just falls out with a light tap on the housing.It truly is a fantastic electric chainsaw.
I have used this little chain saw a number of times and it works very well for small trimming jobs. I have cut limbs 3 to 4 ins. in diameter with no problema at all. A very good buy.
Bought this same product years ago and it finally gave out so I went ahead and bought the same brand saw because it was such a great buy and I have had it before. It's a great saw for odd jobs around the house and is very sturdy and light weight.
Do you have tools? Are you handy with instructions that don't quite fit together properly.If not don't even think about buying this thing. The diagrams suck and unless you have a mind for machinery and how things "probably" go together. Forget about ordering this monster. Just go down to the hardware store an buy one already put together for you.This is an important consideration for many people.I have now finished the assembly and will report that the instructions are just not adequate.They do not give enough information and the diagrams are worse than useless. After the first assemble I had to take it all apart to turn the chain blade around, again because of inadequate directions.Beware!
It worked great. Just like a chainsaw. No, seriously. We use it with our camper generator. Firewood (outside of parks) is quick and easy to obtain.
